About Me

Hi! I'm Kelsey. I'm a photographer, doula, labor support professional, and blogger (self taught & southern made).  I'm an adventure enthusiast and nature lover. As an avid feminist, I am passionate about women living healthy, quality lives.

MY EDUCATION

I graduated from Barbers Hill HS C'O 2016, a year early to focus on photography and soul searching. Soon after graduating, I realized my passion for labor and delivery and pursued my birth doula certification through DONA. I am CPR & First Aid certified.

WHY BIRTH?

My interest in childbirth began at a young age. The women around me would have swollen bellies, go to the hospital and return home with tiny people but nobody would really talk about it. What I overheard from adult's were words like 'epidural' and 'contractions'. They intrigued me and scared me at the same time. It must have been horrible if nobody would tell me about it, right?
I grew up with a sense that I was a caregiver and that someday I wanted children of my own but all the unanswered questions surrounding birth terrified me. How could I change this? How could I learn more? How could I make birth the joyful and empowering experience it ought to be?
That's when I read about doulas. I thought, 'I'm going to need one of these women someday' and then, better yet, 'BE one of these women.' Why? Because we all deserve a positive birth experience. Because our children deserve to be birthed with care and love. Because our bodies deserve to be cared for by a natural minded advocate. We all deserve a doula.
